Well some of you may have read my request for help on building a new budget 1K pc rig since I've been out of the game for about 8 years. This is my very first LCD, it very nice I love it so far but you have to realize i've never owned an lcd and had some very aging 17-19" monitors. from the advice of the forums and my willingness to pay another 40 or so to see the product first hand and have the ability to return it immediately to a local store should I get dead pixels I went to Best buy. So hard to compare with 40 screens and the ones that seem fairly matched in contrast/price are never next to each other to see side by side. Never the less I've always trusted Samsung, and heavy hitter in any electronics so I figured with a 3yr warranty (witch was another big deciding factor in my overall choice) I chose the SyncmasterT220 http://www.Samsung.com/us/consumer [...] 2TDNSUV/ZA. unfortunately I may have found why it was on sale, the link is to the hd version mine the nothing version is no longer even listed on there site but looks the same. I'll admit this thing is very aesthetically appealing. I'm just hoping I didn't make bum buy, is this thing good for gaming was I fooled by the contrast numbers? As I've found I have a bad habit of doing I'll research something AFTER I bought it to find I could have don better. So with that, could anyone suggest a better monitor for 325 including taxes at a local store? 32506 Pensacola. I've read reviews that put dell monitors over this..ouch has deal gotten that much better at quality versus Samsung? I'd really appreciate some help and I have no problem with taking a monitor back, as I already made them price match it to circuit city's price which was 299 theirs is listed as 354 before taxes (I used best buy because I had a card figured I'd out some credit use out there and then pay it off in a month or two.

Hey if your happy with it, than who cares if there another version. Samsung does make good monitors btw. Also the hd thing is probably just advertising considering that most of hd is determined by resolution.

I know, but for those who read my requast for help on buiulding a new pc. I needed the best posible monitor for 320. That is the most ou can get for the money, I wanted to make sure. plus I haven't gotten the new pc compnenets yet, they are in transit. I noticed it doesn't have hdcp, and I want this monitor to last me atleast 5 years.
Don't get caught up in the HD sales hype and hdcp is nothing but copy protection. It's not like hdcp make the picture look better. You might say your better without it. Samsung makes monitors with good contrast ratios and fast response rates. If you don't have any dead pixels then you have a good monitor that will last awhile.
