Hey there, unfortunately I ran into several unexpected car failure bills. I'm back at my budget of $1055.61 and I wanted to repost what I initially had to see if there's any parts I want to replace for a better price. The prices are old, I'm more concerned about if there are great deals on other parts than the ones I have currently selected. Thanks for reading.

Edit: I really can't afford to go more than $50 higher than my budget for more information.

Crazy.. we posted within minutes of each other, and my build is almost identical to yours: http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/ [...] k-canadian

I went for the Corsair supply, due to a recommendation from aevm, and also because it rated high on silentpcreview.com's quiet power supplies list.

I'm curious if you compared your HD to the 640GB Seagate I picked. I doubt 16MB vs 32 cache makes any difference, and I've read that the WD has faster seek times (although slightly less total throughput). I'll have to check those numbers.

Aside from that I can't offer too much I'm afraid. Chose a different case for quiet over max cooling, and picked different 4850 and RAM, likely due to different pricing here. (Although I notice you went for lower-voltage RAM rather than absolutely minimal timings.)

Anyway, looks good to me! (FWIW, not too much ;) )

I kept all the same specs (I noticed the video card was deactivated so I just went for the sapphire version which is cheaper anyways). However, I have absolutely zero plans to crossfire in the future. I doubt I'll even upgrade this computer after purchasing. Is there a cheaper motherboard I can get that will give me the same results if I don't plan to crossfire?
