hi,
looking for opinion on the new rig I'm about to buy:
CPU: Q6600 (will be OCed)
MB: ASUS P5QL-E
HDD: Seagate ST3500320AS 500GB SATA2 32MB
RAM: G.Skill DDR2 4096MB (2048MBx2) 800Mhz CL 4-4-4-12 PK
GPU: Gigabyte ATI Radeon HD4870 512MB PCIe
Optical Drive: LG GSA-GH22L X22 SATA DVD
Case: Antec Nine Hunderd
PSU: HEC Cougar 600W
CPU Cooler: Thermalright Ultra-120 eXtreme
Case Fan: Thermaltake Thunderblade 120mm LED fan (side fan)

now, first of all, is this a good build? second, do I need a seperate fan for the CPU cooler? and third, how bad is the 4870 heat problem? how well does the fan fix work? maybe I should get a GTX260? (I'm not a big fan of the 9800GX2).
thx,
ziv :)
edit: changed case since I found out it does fit within the budget.

A big NO on that power supply, HEC (Compucase) makes decent budget cases, but not power supplies. Go with a Corsair, PC Power and Cooling, Antec, OCZ, Seasonic power supply. Check here for some great reviews on coolers.

Really? I'm writing on another forum too and there it's a common recommendation, oh well. I'll check what are my options.
kk, here (I'm very limited here in israel) in this store I have a corsair which kind of breaks my budget and the Antec EarthWatts 650W.
is the Corsair CMPSU-650TXEU 650W worth breaking the budget (I'm already VERY on the edge), or mybe I can settle on 50W w/ the Corsair CMPSU-550VXEU 550W?

Yeah I wouldn't go with that power supply. Still if your budget is stressed then I suggest replacing your 4870 with a 4850 from HIS like this one

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814161243

It has a dual slot cooling solution and should allow you to clock the card close to 700 core 1100 (2200 effective) memory. There are a few versions of this card with some factory overclocked to 685 core, 1100 (2200 effective) memory. While not quite the level of the 4870 it be an improvement over the stock speeds and close the gap somewhat. Most importantly the money saved will allow you to invest in a much better power supply.

It is possible to get the corsair, I just asked whether it's worth it?
And another question - 'bout the heatsink - I read the site you gave, sadly the two top aren't being imported to Israel so I'll get the Ultra 120 eXtreme (same price as the 120a). I wanted to ask about a fan, I ahve the following options:
Arctic Cooling Arctic Fan 120mm
Nexus Real Silent Case Fan 120mm
Scythe Minebea 120mm
Scythe S-FLEX SFF21D 120mm
Scythe S-FLEX SFF21E 120mm
Thermaltake Thunderblade 120mm LED fan
Xilence Case Fan 120mm
Zalman Case Fan ZM-F3 120mm
Zalman Case Fan ZM-F3BL LED 120mm
Which of them will be the best coupled w/ the 120?
