I'm on the hunt for the next best step up I'm planning buying a 1tb hd or maybe another 500gb for more space. Another thing I plan on doing is moving over to 64bit OS which I probably should have done in the first place. What would you guys recommend for best logically upgrade route? general use of the PC is for gaming and video editing.
Get 4GB if you don't have it already. If it's the 8800GTS 640MB, think about changing it for maybe an HD 4870 if you want. Definitely make the switch to a 64 Bit OS, there isn't any point on staying with a 32 bit OS. You could try getting a second 500GB for a RAID array.
yeah I currently have 4gb of ram, it is the 640mb verison after looking a few charts probably going to wait for the next line of cards to come to market either that or make a jump for a crossfire setup. As for a hard drive anyone care to comment on this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] ita%201TB?

that looks like a greet drive. 32MB cache is always nice and it's hard to argue with 1TB. i'm personall more of a seagate kind of guy but western digital is an excellent hard drive manufacturer.
