Hello everyone,
I was looking at ordering this system from Dell(yes Dell ). Does this system look pretty solid for the price? I get a discount through my school so I thought I would get this one. There are a few things I am worried about though, I'm not 100% sure that this will come with a free PCIEx16 slot. Also for $50 more I can upgrade it to the Q6600. Would that be worth it? Later I will probably replace the motherboard with one that will overclock better.
Here are the specs:
Dell Inspiron 530 Intel® Core™2 Duo processor E7200
Operating System-Genuine Windows Vista® Home Premium
2GB Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 800MHz- 2DIMMs
Dell USB Keyboard and Dell Optical USB Mouse
Monitor-19 inch SE198WFP Widescreen
Video Cards-Integrated Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 3100
Hard Drives-500GB Serial ATA Hard Drive (7200RPM) w/DataBurst Cache™
Floppy Drive and Media Reader-No Floppy Drive Included
Network Interface-Integrated 10/100 Ethernet
Modem & Wireless-No Modem Option
Optical Drive-16X DVD+/-RW Drive
Sound Cards-Integrated 7.1 Channel Audio
1Yr Ltd Hardware Warranty, InHome Service after Remote Diagnosis
Total with shipping and tax- $688.49
I know most pre-built PC's come with crummy no name PSU's so I will be getting a new one. And I will be putting a graphics card in it. I wanted the HD 4850 but the 8800 GT Combo seemed to be the best deal: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...SubCategory=48&SortField=0&PageSize=10&page=1 I wanted the combo with the 8800 GT and the Rosewill 600W v2.01 for $155.98.
That PSU seemed fine to me. How bout you?
Total cost- $855.90
Comments? Suggestions? Has anyone ever used that monitor?
Thanks!
Edit: oops I posted this in the wrong subsection
