How to safely overclock intel i7 860

hi everyone. i'm a complete beginner but decided to build a computer and wondered if anyone can give me advice on overclocking this system for hidef vid editing. 400w corsair ps. gigabyte ga p55m ud4, 6gb corsair dominator memory, core i7 860, akasa akcc017 freezer, asus EAH4350 graphics. thanks.

Why do you have 6gb of ram? That completely defeats the purpose of getting and 860....

to what 860 feature is 6 gb of ram opposed to ? .........

I'm guessing he's referring to the fact the i7-860 supports dual channel RAM, not triple channel, like the i7-920 :-)

there are also 2x2 + 2x1 6gb dual channel configurations though
