Installing 2nd HDD Kills windows installation

Vista 64-Bit Sp2 all updates
Model: HP - A6720Y

Works great with one HDD - WD 500gb Caviar Green

Try to install any of 3 working Sata drives as 2nd drive, that are confirmed to work on other PCs, and Windows will not start, gets to progress loading bar, blue screens, but not a usual blue screen, strange characters are displayed, and it automatically restarts

Uninstall the 2nd drive, leaving only the original, still perpetually restarts, with blue screen

Re-Install windows, works fine

Try again with another working Sata Drive, blank drives, work on other Vista machines

Same thing, everytime

Only thing i can think of is the Sata/Raid Controller, I had to have SATA drivers from HP on a USB to install windows at all, and the BIOS says something about the Raid when it starts up but I have no idea what to do, I never set up a Raid so I figured it was off

Please help me

Sounds like a bad BIOS setting. Check you motherboard chapter on the BIOS settings. You will likely need to enable SATA as AHCI, since you are not using RAID.
