Hi all.
I have a evga 8800gts 512 (g92 ver) and was wondering if a 4870 would be a good upgrade. I pretty much just game and use 1600x1200 rez,or sometimes even lower.
Thanks :)

depends.

if your going to be playing new games, like fallout 3, my head just went blank and i forgot others.... left 4 dead. etc

you COULD upgrade, but i dont see it being 100% necessary.

you could wait a while, for more price drops

but if you want it now, yes its a nice upgrade

Agreed. Always wise to upgrade when you are no longer satisfied with the performance, and not just because something newer came out. The GTS 512MB is still quite good, but an FSAA junkie who plays all the latest fps games could easily want more performance for 16x12 gaming.
