These are the parts I have come up with for my new system build. I mainly use it of gaming, downloading music, and schoowork. I plan on adding another video card later on. I have not ever built a computer before. I plan on overclocking. Please check out the system and let me know if I need anything else before I order it or if some of the parts are not compatible. I welcome any criticism and feedback. By the way I mainly play Lord of the Rings online, WOW, and Call of Duty $. Thanks.

Looks sweet to me! It's amazing what $2000 will buy now! I remember back when my dad got the mew family comp - was a 66mhz with like 2gb hard drive and 8mb ram! $3500!!!
Will that video card perform better than 4970's in crossfire?
And you already have an OS? Additional case fans?
Why only DDR2 and 800mhz?

I picked that video card because it is supposed to be the best out right now. I have Vista 64 for OS. I do not have any extra fans. Do I need more? I was told that RAM was good for what I want. My first pick was out of stock so I went with that. If anyone has some better suggestions I will definitely accept them. This is my first system build and I want a great gaming system without spending 4 or 5 grand.

save some money on the mobo...god

DDR3 atm is a total waste, especially for C2 build
Also i just noticed that u have DDR2 in a DDR3 board and no one realized it....wow
Anyways that doesnt work

So save some money on the board, I suggest the P5Q Deluxe/Pro if u dont ever consider CFing x2s or the Rampage FORMULA (DDR2 variation) if u do

Edit: @ mazda....yes the x2 performs better then 2 cards and DDR2 if he doesnt plan to OC which i doubt but 800 will suffice to about an Frequency of 500 and up to 533 (1066 standards)

That motherboard is overkill. You're not going to see more than 10 fps difference between motherboards and many times it's not even that much. At high resolutions like 1920x1200 it's going to be more like 2-3 fps. Save yourself some money.

And like silverion77 mentioned, make sure you have a ddr2 board for your ddr2 memory. I would check out the gigabyte and asus x48/x38 boards that are more around $200 - $250 if you're sure you will be crossfiring at some point.

I do plan on crossfiring in the future. I updated my parts list to include the motherboard you suggested. I appreciate the help. I did not even catch that I picked the wrong motherboard. That is why this site is great.

Any more suggestions? Do I need anything else? I was planning on getting another HDD for a backup. Should I get a faster one with less memory and downgrade the one I have for backup since I saved some money on the motherboard. Just curious. I was also thinking of adding another DVD Player. Should I pick another brand or just get two of them. Thanks for all your help.

ctually for these kind of games it's a waste of money. I think that instead of investing that much on CPU+MB (and mybe GPU) you should maybe get a good mouse+keyboard if possible then some kind of surround system. these games don't require such a bad ass system (although I'm not sure about that when using such a big screen).

O i just looked at ur games, and wow....this is sort of crazy for such a build.
U should save some money on it and save for future upgrades, but if this is what u want then ur fine

I like OEM cause its cheaper

Also u only need 2 drives to burn and read at the same time, but Samsung is a good choice

HDD: I like the 640AAKS its a VERY fast 7200 rpm drive for the money. If u want Raid 1 (mirror backup) then u need 2 of the exact same drives. 10k drives are very expensive and not worth it imho and just because u saved money doesnt mean u have to go throw it away....keep it
