Go to start-->control panel-->printers and faxes-->is your printer listed there?
If not, you need to install it. If your printer came with a disc, you can use that. If not, go to the manufacturer's website, download, and install the drivers.

Make sure the print spooler service is running, in the services.msc window.

The printer was noy listed. Drivers installed correctly.
Once again I have the ptinter installed. However, it continues to show the fax wizard instead of printing. I select print, but the fax wizard comes up instead just as it was doing before.
Did that, but default not lisyted. I can't recall now where you can list it as a :default:. I'll eventually find it. Thanks alot for your time and help!.
If it's the default printer, it will have a black check mark on it. If you right click on the printer, a menu will pop up, and there will be an option to select it as default. If it's your only printer, you could also delete any other printers in there, and it'll select your printer as default.
