Just once more, right before I make my purchase, I'd like to hear some opinions and recommendations on the parts I've selected.
I have a keyboard, mouse, and a 1600x1200 monitor. This'll be a gaming PC, with a budget of ~$1000, which is where I'm at.

Mobo and CPU combo for $35 off right now, making the E8400 a better deal than the E8500.
I picked the G.Skill over Mushkin because I'd rather not deal with the rebate.
I plan on adding a second 4870 in a few months, and I hear the Corsair 750 TX is up to the task.
Antec Threehundred because it is a well-ventilated, attractive case, for only $50. I'll add more case fans if it is necessary.
I'm planning on overclocking the E8400 to 3.6Ghz, and I think the Freezer 7 Pro can handle that.
The speakers, well, I just need some new ones and it seemed like a fine deal.

Alright, any suggestions are very much appreciated. Thanks.

Those look like very good picks.

I am not a big fan of that case, but that is more personal preference as I like huge cases for water cooling.

I would suggest this ram as it will give you much more head room for OCing and isn't much more.

I would also go for a better cooler than the Freezer 7 Pro. You might make it to 3.6ghz with that but, it will be very hot.

Overall, good picks.

Looks very similar to what I'm looking at getting. I've been told the P5Q isn't good for the 4850 or 4870 and especially in crossfire... the P45 will limit them.

The P5Q Pro is very good for a single HD 4850 or HD 4870. The problem is in Crossfire where a P5E X48 or GA-X48-DS4 (which costs $85 more) would get more fps indeed, especially with the eye candy maxed and at high resolutions. Yes, if the OP can afford the extra $85 he should get an x48 motherboard. However, if he can't, it's still OK, I think. Even with the P45 limit, two HD 4870 cards will usually get over 60 fps, and that's where the monitor's refresh rate is a limit anyway.

Edit: just to clarify. With a single card, the P45 will give 16x bandwidth to the PCI-E slot that has a card in it. That's exactly what X48 does too, no difference there. In Crossfire, the X48 stays at 16x+16x, very nice, while the P45 drops to 8x+8x. That's why the difference only appears in Crossfire, not with a single card.
