I currently have 2 GeForce 6800 GT cards running in SLI in one pc, and in the other I have a single GeForce 8800GT.
Which would be able to run current games better, ie Warhammer online?

geese, i dont think the 6800's would stand a chance agaist the 8800 GT. I have never seen benchmarks for that but the 8800 GT is 2 generations higher, and still not a bad card by todays standard. You could try both of them and just do a 3d mark benchmark to test, but im pretty sure the 8800 GT would trash the 6800's

My brother recently did a very similar upgrade.

The 8800 GT card is at least 4x more powerful than a single 6800 GT card. Even with the highest efficiency scenario of 6800's in SLI you are looking at having at least twice the performance with the single 8800 GT card.

6800's, even in SLI, do not run the most modern games very well at all.

WAR does not support Crossfire at this time, so the single card would be better regardless.

(Seriously, No SLI, No Crossfire, and if your running an X2 card, only one GPU will be running.)

This thread makes me want to cry. My 7900GS recently got toasted by my failing PSU and I'm stuck using pitiful 6600GTs in SLI...
That said, an 8800GT will stomp 6800GTs in SLI as others have said.

1 8800 GT is more than enough, my friend maxes out the game on a 8600 GTS...ofc the frames drop to 20 sometimes, but the 8800 GT more than doubles 8600 GTS.

That game doesn't require too much to run. For it to run on low, I bet you can use an old gen card.

Are you freakin serious? Wow, after 2 years of waiting...

Screw it. If a game in this day and age cant support SLI/TRI-SLI and has graphics that bad, then I'm not going to line their pockets.

Your $50 out of the 1.5 million copies of WAR that have already been sold is going to be a huge loss to Mythic I'm sure.

Mythic focused on the entry level graphics for WAR in a bid to steal customers away from WoW which has proven to be successful. The game looks decent on its lowest settings and is still styalisticaly pretty at maximum settings. Graphic options can always be added in, SLI support can be patched and if Age of Conan has shown us anything, it's that no amount of anti aliasing can polish a turd.

It doesn't support sli because it really doesn't take all that much graphic power to make it reach it's max...lol

Its an MMO not a graphical based game like Crysis. Its meant to be manageable on any system, so you can see why they skipped sli:)

Yea, but if they want to attract high end users such as myself, and give us terrible cartoon graphics, they at least better let us make them better.

naw waste of money lol the game runs 60+ on all high end systems. I guarantee it.

They're trying to attract user, not just gamers, kinda like the Wii approach. Don't target only the 10% gaming public. Make it run on anything don't make it complex, pour as little money into it (that doesn't mean its cheaply made, just speaking...) and make it an easy to catch on game (which it is compared to WOW, well i like it alot more).

either way any card 9600 GSo 4670 9500 GT and your good to max out this game, resolution might hurt it a bit, but thats most games:)

To OP,

The 8800 GT will blow that game's mind:) have fun.
