i know that this card was like godly when it came out, just like all others, but if you look around for it, it's STILL like $200-$600 and it's not even as good according to the specs as a 9800gtx that costs $159.99. can someone explain why the heck this is?

yehh, i saw that on newegg. probably cause nvidia thinks that it is considered a "highend" card and want to sell it for as much as the other highend cards...

That's actually a good deal if you compare it to the 8800 GTS 640 at Best Buy for $559.99.

i remember seeing that card go for $800 at future shop when it just came out. it's still so expensive because the price hasn't been adjusted on it in years, and some sucker will actually buy it for that price.
