Messenger error 80048820

Hello,

I am unable to login to msn messenger. i m getting the above error. i.e.80048820. i went through microsoft's site and performed all the recommendations, but in vain. my firewall is off, i have changed by connection settings in ie, run all those dlls mentioned, but still no use. even i formatted the machine. i know, it's bit stupid, but i did, still no use. any help would be appreciated.
