I have recently brought a 40" Samsung series 5 TV but seem to be having some odd issues getting it to display properly from my 8800 GTS (640mb OC version)
Initially I used a DVI to vga converter and a standard vga lead to the TV's vga port but found some reason I could not get the TV to accept the native 1920X1080 resolution. It would just say signal not supported. Weird thing is is that it would accept 1920X1200 and most other resolutions. I messed about with custom timings and resfresh rate with no joy.
So I went out and brought a DVI to HDMI cable and plugged it in. The PC picked the TV up as a Samsung device and read all the available resolution correctly. Problem was the TV simply refuses to display any of them. It just repeatedly comes up with "searching for signal" everytime I try any of the supported resoltuons.
I am having the same problems with a Geforce 9500 GS. I plug it in to the samsung on an HDMI cable, and it just flickers on and off. Strangely, this does not happen in the HDMI 3 port on the side of the TV, but then you have to enjoy the hum lines. Any help appreciated.
