currently running a 9800gtx with a 650w PSU which has 4x 18A rails. I'll assume the 2x pci'e connectors run off only 1 rail, as the cable branches out into 2x pci-e connectors. My rig is an E6400@3.2ghz, 2x2gig ddr800 memory 4-4-4-12 with a gigabyte 965p s3 mobo.
i noticed my warhammer lags horrible in huge fights, and i suspect could it be that I only have 1 rail connected into the graphics card?.
Would it be safe to use 2x molex > 1x pci-e on one of my other rails which are in use by the dvd. So that i have 2 rails connected to the card?
hrmmmmmmm, maybe i need a fresh reinstall. or do you think a later bios version would help?....I cleaned all drivers with driver cleaner pro prior to installing the card, defragmented, tried drivers that came with box, and latest drivers from nvidia. any idea what the problem could be?
True, that's ~ how much the card uses. But that's cutting it close. Usually the minimum recommended is 17A on the +12 rail.
@OP: Mind listing the exact PSU you have?
By his own admission he's got four 18 amp rails, and with the PEG connector generally on it's own rail, power isn't the likely cause of the problem.
I always like to keep invisik in mind, he's the forum member running dual GTX260's (11 amps consumption per card ) on a Antec EA500 with it's dual 17 amp rails.

I would have to agree with Shadow703793 Well the PSU has the enough amps. But I would doubt that PSUs stability/quality (ie +12 rail stability, etc). Do be careful with that PSU. [#ff0000][/#ff0000]
never heard of a superflower got to be a low end psu.myself I wouldn't chance it on a new 9800gtx,but it's your call.
