Transferring data from a disk from a compter not working

Hello, how do I transfer data from my ide hard drive to my sata hard drive. I had the ide drive installed in my new computer because my old computer died. I can see all the files but it keeps telling me that I can't use the "read only" file. Uggghhh! I don't think easy transfer will work. Any help would be great!!! Thanks

I think a better bet is to get an IDE hard disk enclosure, install your hard disk into that, and try accessing the data through the USB port.

Hey r_manic, that was going to be my first attempt but thought the set-up I have now would have been easier. I'm seeing that your suggestion is probably the more correct one, though. Thanks for the feedback!!!!
