Hi,
Im thinking of buying a 4870 1GB for my old pc using this mobo: http://www.asrock.com/mb/overview.asp?Model=939Dual-SATA2&s=939

You think it will be compatible? or im going to run into problems with it? because right now my budget can only support a video card. I know my pc will bottleneck the vidcard but I just need to know if it will work fine. If it does ill buy it then get a new pc later on with another 4870 1GB for cross firing.

Those X1900's required massive amounts of power, I think it was like 280W? You should be fine with your current PSU, im guessing its at least 500W?

Dont really know about the wattage, but I know they required high amps..high.

Replaced X1950 XT with 4870 512.
Idle power is approx 40 Watts higher, However, load power was only approx 10 -> 15 Watts higher.

X1950 XT required 1 6pin pci-e power connector, powercolor 4870 512 required 2 6pin pci-e power connectors.

As long as you have the two pci-e pwr connectors and your psu was not on the edge (12V rail) then you should be OK.
