HD video problem

hey guys, i have an hd(high def) video on my pc but when i play it in vlc or anything it has hiccups and gets pixelated all of the time. im not sure if it has something to do with the hard drive or something but if anyone has any suggestions it would be appreciated.

What are your system specs? Like CPU etc.

VLC , being based on an older build of ffmpeg, has crappy h264 and mkv support.

Try using MPC-HC, or MPC+FFdshow-tryouts.. or even smplayer (front end to mplayer)

ok i got classic media player but now the sound is lagging with the video. my specs are

cpu amd athlon +3000
7900gs
sound blaster sound card
2 gig g skill ram

using ffdshow, or internal filters?

likely your problem is that your CPU isnt fast enough to play back 1080p files.
