for the last month my screen at times turns light pink and flickers, is my vid card or monitor going bad thanks

i'd bet its 8800gtx or some other undercooled g80 nvidia chip, with poor-to-no-cooling on vidram

Check his configuration; it is very good.

To answer the OP, It sounds like a failing monitor to me.

try a diff screen if available

is your monitor running VGA? if so is the cable bad?

if you gfx card has two outputs, try both

troubleshooting FTW :)

I have a second output on my vid card I'll try that and borrow a monitor thanks for the input

You might want to try your monitor on a second PC.

I switched outputs and the flickering seemed to go away but started doing it again but is less freqent does this mean my vid card is going bad?

Have you updated the video card driver to currency?

Before you start replacing things, isolate the problem. Try your monitor in another PC, or try a known good monitor on your PC.
If you can't do this, my best guess is a bad monitor. If you get a new one, make certain that you can return it if it does not fix the problem.

tried my monitor on a friends computer and it worked fine, he suggested to try installing the software for the monitor and it works fine with the latest stuff form viewsonic thanks for the input.
