would this be OK on gaming?
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127384

im NOT a hardcore gamer ( like crysis and stuff like that )
but i am going to be playing CoD4 and some other first person shooters :bounce: that are much worse than that.
so basically CoD4 is going to be the game that is going to be the peak of all the other games that i play.

so what settings and frames per second should i get on CoD4?
( please don't recommend me anything else thanks )
:bounce:

as long as you don't expect too much, then that card will be fine. i can't tell you an actual fps for COD4, but it'll definitely be very playable.

Who knows, you didn't give us enough details. The biggest question we need answered is what resolution do you play at? You said your not a hardcore gamer, so I'm assuming you don't play at a high res. The 4650 is good for up to 1680x1050, so assuming you don't have a 24" or bigger LCD, you should be good with the 4650.

Yeah the 4670 is definitely the way to go for cheap graphics at that low of resolution. Speaking of which, why is your resolution so low and weird? Are you running on an old or eccentric monitor?

I just installed the 4650 today to replace my old EVGA Geforce 7950GT, it is a night and day difference, my system is so much more stable, I play BF2 alot and also the ATV racing game Pure...before I would get artifacts and random crashes on Pure even on low settings, now I can play on high settings with shadows without a problem. the card has a much smaller fan and heatsink but runs about 15 deg c cooler according to the overclock utility that is in Catylist (I was using EVGA precision before) plus it seems to use alot less power (orion 485w psu)

the 4670 packs a punch hard enough to shake the 192 bit gpu from nvidia.

its cheap as dirt already. definitely a must buy for non-hardcore gamers. i have a friend whos got 4670s in his "netcafe rigs" (50 units total). sweet performance, sweet budget.

I must be weird or just play weak games because I cannot tell a difference in performance between the card I have with GDDR3 256bit (7950gt) and my DDR2 128 bit (HD4650) (I clocked both of them at the same speed, 610 mhz in precision and overdrive, respectively)

yeah! go for GDDR3 I got a PALIT HD4650 SONIC Gddr3 512 128bit and it works fine with me.... honestly I can't believed I played FAR CRY2 @ Very High (optimized) @ 1280 X 1024! or go for 4670! the ATI HD4k series are sweet! remember DDR3 is a must!!
