I just ordered a Diamond hd 4850 (512mb) card...however, I was just looking at some of the specs of the other manufacturers' 4850's, and some specs are better....for instance the Asus one has a memory clock of 1986mhz while my Diamond 4850's memory clock is 993 ....

Is this a big deal? I didn't figure the cards would be all that different but that seems like a pretty large difference...

any help appreciated!

thanks.

actually, not only in ddr3. But in all kind of ddr. (ddr stands for double data rate, thats where the x2 comes from)

Actually there really are variations in video card specifications. I found out while researching 4850 cards. I visited several forums sponsored by graphic card companies. There are reference specifications published by the GPU manufacturer. There is a possibility companies selling video cards might improve upon the reference specifications.
