Ive been wondering what is the reason to choose a much smaller LCD monitor over a LCD TV? Below is the price points ive seen:

22" LCD monitor 1680x1050 priced from $229
24" LCD monitor 1920x1200 priced from $349
25.5" LCD monitor 1920x1200 priced from $499
27" LCD monitor 1920x1200 priced from $699
30" LCD monitor 2560x1600 priced from $1199

22" LCD TV 1366x768 priced from $299
26" LCD TV 1366x768 priced from $399
32" LCD TV 1366x768 priced from $499
37" LCD TV 1366x768 priced from $599
42" LCD TV 1920x1080 priced from $799
47" LCD TV 1920x1080 priced from $999
52" LCD TV 1920x1080 priced from $1399
60" LCD TV 1920x1080 priced from $2299
65" LCD TV 1920x1080 priced from $3999

One can get a 32" LCD TV for the same price as a 25.5" LCD monitor. Even the giant 47" LCD TV is cheaper than the 30" LCD monitor! I know LCD monitors do higher resolutions for their size, that's great for gaming but not so great for straining your eyes or needing reading glasses or being forced to use really huge text or running a lower, non native resolution and dealing with blurry text(with the exception of perfect multiple linear scaling resolutions) Why can't they use lower native resolutions on LCD monitors as an option? Id like to see some 24" monitors with natives such as 1440x900!

The other advantage with choosing a LCD TV is you can also use it as a monitor! If you buy a LCD monitor, you won't get to use it as a TV! Why spend more money for both when a LCD TV has a double use? Theres a huge choice of LCD TV's. 1366x768 is problamatic as a monitor, I am still trying to figure out how to get native resolution, no one seems to know how to. I would settle for 1360x768 and have 3 pixels black bars instead of a stretched screen. So I ask if anyone knows of any good 1280x768 or 1280x720 monitors? Size must be 26" to 32", I see a used NEC 30" 1280x768 LCD TV for $250, is this good?

I also ask, is it true that LCD monitors handle custom resolutions better than LCD TVs which may just give a blank screen? I am very curious which 1920x1080 LCD TV properly syncs at 960x540, please download powerstrip and try this on yours! Also try 640x360! The quality should be equal to native since it's linear scaling of halves, thirds, etc.
