Installing internal hard drive

I just bought a new internal hard drive. I installed it by connecting it to the power supply and linking it to the motherboard with a SATA cable. When I turned on my computer after this I saw the installing device driver information and it said that the device was ready to use. However, when I go to my computer I do not see the hard drive. I can go to device manager and select hard disks and it shows up there saying it is working properly and all drivers are up to date. I have hooked up laptop hard drives in the past to save data for friends and that worked easily. I am confused now to why this installed hard drive isn't showing up. I have windows 7 and this is a second hard drive if that helps. Thanks.

Right Click on My Computer, select Manage / Disk Management

Right Click on the Drive and select Format
