Old Dell Died

Have an old Dell computer that died. Bought a new PSU and installed and still dead. No lights, no noise, just dead.

Have some genealogical records on the computer that I would like to retrieve as it would take a long time to reconstruct.

Any suggestions or recommendations on how to retrieve the information?

Yank out the hard drive and install it into a working system as a secondary drive.

Oh if that's first suggestion is to complicated then just go buy a 15-20 dollar external USB hard drive enclosure. Hook that up, plug in the USB and you should be good to go. No configuring nessesary.

Did you get a "dell" powersupply? I don't know if they use proprietary devices anymore but i do know they used to. Take the new one you got and compare it to the old one, the colors should all match. If they don't, You need to get a "dell" psu
