I recently purchased the support Foxconn G31MV-K LGA 775 Intel G31 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard from Newegg. Link - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813186145

I put my Pentium D LGA 775 processor in it and upon boot it tells me that this motherboard does not support processors over 65W.

Could someone show me how to tell if a motherboard supports processors above 65W before you purchase? Or if someone could recommend a motherboard that's LGA 775, supports 4GB DDR2 ram (2x240pin slots is fine), supports 65W CPUs, and is around $50 that would be great!!

Thanks, any help is appreciated.

It looks like it only supports Core 2 Duo / Celeron D. Before buying a motherboard, especially for an older CPU like that Pentium D, you should check out the manufacturers website to see that boards CPU support to make sure it supports the one you have out of the box as well as to see what your upgrade options are.
