I just got my 5850 and I want to overclock it just so I can squeeze performance out of it but I don't want to push it too hard espeically since I just got it. What is a nice safe overclock for this card that can run 24/7 that I really wouldn't even have to worry about?

Also what is the best overclocking utility to use? I had rivatuner for my old 8800GT but it doesn't seem to work with my 5850.

hi,

i've had good look around for this one and found that this card could safely go up to about 775Mhz GPU clock speed, and 1125Mhz memory clock speed. as for the software just go with ati's catalyst control center
but always make sure you have sufficient cooling, otherwise you could damage something. also if your temperature consistantly goes over about 85 celsius it could do serious long term damage. so keep an eye out for your temps.

hope this helped,
