Hello everyone.

I am currently helping my friend build a PC. He's tight on money, preferably under 500. I have chosen the best parts to my knowledge and wanted to get a few professional opinions before I go ahead and let him order the parts. He already has a GeForce 8800 GT. Everything else is as follows:

This totals out to $403, excluding the graphics card. Opinions, advice if the pieces will work together, etc, would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

No. Never use a Rosewill PSU. Get a good one. The Antec EA500 will be fine:

No again on the G31. Get a P43 such as:

Slightly better RAM choice... yours was OK, this is just a definite 1.8V:

^+1 esp. on the PSU. You could also step up to a Corsair 550W or a PC Power & Cooling 610. Or better. Also agree on P43, but try and get a P45 or if both are too much you can get a P35 (aka P35-DS3L ~$80).

Thanks guys. The changes Proximon suggested should be fine, that's still a $410 total (without shipping and tax) so it's nearing $500. However I have a question about the RAM. The Asus motherboard says the memory standard is DDR2 1066, does this mean I can not use A-Data DDR2 800 sticks? Or does it work with any speed lower than 1066? I apologize, I'm not sure how the RAM works.

^No, you can use DDR2-800 just fine.

That is correct. The "standard" they list is really just a statement about what FSB speeds they support. There is no reason to run memory at 1066 with an Intel CPU running on a 333FSB, or 266.
