Can't move icons and system freezes up frequently

Hello,
Icons stuck on windows xp system freezes up as well. tried to scan with mcafee and registry cleaner with no fix. Can you help? I reinstalled my xp system as well. I've reinstalled most items I need, but can't move my icons and the system freezes up frequently with more than one tab open at a time. Any thoughts?

Could be memory or HDD. Did you completely reinstall XP or do a system restore or a repair? Find two programs One is called Hitchi DFT (Drive Fitness Tester), this one will test your HDD for defects.

The other one is called MemTest and this one will test your memory. If both pass then your OS needs to be re-reinstalled.

Failing power supply can also cause random lock-ups... not to mention failed capacitors on the motherboard...
