Hi, I have a EVGA Geforce 9800GTX+ sitting at home right now for my new desktop. I can get a HD4850 (the Sonic oc'ed version by Palit) for exactly the same price ($180cnd). Should I return the 9800 and get the 4850 instead? 4850 here in Canada is a lot more expensive for some reason so that is the only 4850 I can afford.

No, same performance.

But depend on your mobo if you're planning to SLI/Crossfire, the GPU is important.

4850 is faster in few places and mostly with the eye candy turned up.

if it didint cost me any extra and I already had 9800gtx+ for some weird reason, I'd get 4850. I'd try to find dual slot card before jumping and buying.

What motherboard do you have? The 2 cards usually perform about the same, with the 4850 being slightly ahead in some games.
