I have a Intel Q6600, 4gb of Crucial Ballistix RAMs, 2x Seagate 500Gb HDD, 2x Asus HD 4850 TOP connected to my GIGABYTE GA-EP45-UD3P P45 Motherboard.
According to the Motherboard's manual, it says that "use of a power supply providing a 2x4 12V power connector is recommended by the CPU manufacturer when using an Intel Extreme Edition CPU (130W)"
Does this mean in addition to the main power supply (2x12 Main Power Connector), the 2x4 12V connector should be connected at the same time?
I know my Q6600 is not an Extreme Edition CPU, but should I still go ahead and connect the 2x4 12V power as well since I'm powering 2 graphics card? Or is that not recommended?
Thanks a lot for the help!
