i bought a card off eBay few days ago, sold as seen, the guy said he thinks it was working... i basically got it for a third of normal price, its a Radeon X1900 Pro, it arrived in perfect condition, well packaged, looked brand new... So i plugged it in, fired up the PC, fan spins on the graphics card, but i got no output from the 2 x DVI sockets, in the past when i've installed cards, i always get a basic VGA output, then install the drivers...

It came with a driver CD, but i dont wanna install it just yet, as i was afraid it may over-write the drivers of the existing card for which i no longer have a driver CD for... I've gone into My Computer > Device Manager, and it seems there's something called 'Multimedia Video Controller' missing, anyone know if this is a VGA driver??

Any help would be much appreciated

Many thx ... Glen!

Nah, it's not faulty. You really need to install the drivers, or else the card won't work properly. But no output from the DVI sounds unusual...

But here's the most up to date driver so you can download it...

XP 32 Bit:http://game.amd.com/us-en/drivers_ [...] radeonx-xp
XP 64 Bit:http://game.amd.com/us-en/drivers_ [...] deonx-xp64
XP 2005 Edition: http://game.amd.com/us-en/drivers_ [...] adeonx-mce

Vista 32 Bit: http://game.amd.com/us-en/drivers_ [...] on-vista32
Vista 64 Bit: http://game.amd.com/us-en/drivers_ [...] on-vista64

Let me know if this fixes the DVI problem.

The card i've currently got installed is the X1300 Pro, so the catalyst control centre is already installed on the pc, i'm downloading the display driver now...

see how this goes, will get back to you soon :)
