bluetooth doesn't connect you to the internet. It's used for wireless devices to communicate with each other, like keyboards and mice and cell phones. You need a wireless adapter, and a wireless access point or router already connected to the internet.

Do you have a cable modem, DSL or other device that connects to the internet? If you don't have something like that, the router won't help.

What model of linksys router did you buy? I know how to connect them, but I need to know what kind of internet service you have.

Ok I'm having a hard time figuring out what you are talking about. Can you please explain these:

cable and IP address - did they give just a cable (the wire)? or cable modem?
cpu port - where is this port? on the back of the computer? are you talking about an ethernet port?
vpn cable - do you mean ethernet cable?

Does the cable connect to telephone jack [plug] in the wall, and then to the router? If so, it is DSL or a very slow modem; or does it connect to a TV cable outlet--like for cable TV? That cable is 1/4 inch or so diameter and probably white. Do you pay a cable company for the service, or the phone company? I am trying to narrow it down for you, please give specific detail. Then someone can help you.

Usually if you apply for an internet connection.. DSL.. they will provide a DSL modem (this will be your "bridge" to connect to the internet). From the modem you have to connect a "cross connect" ethernet cable for your router.

BTW, did you have any internet connection before buying your router?
