I have no IEEE1394 bus controllers or devices showing up in Device Manager.
Have tried a PCI firewire card also and same result, not detected.
Have tried Vista Premium repair, no luck.
If I reinstall Vista, will I have to reinstall and configure everything else?

Have you checked the BIOS to see if it is disabled?
