I am in the process of researching components for a small computer I plan to build, hopefully small enough to serve as a notebook. As such, I am looking into small, lightweight parts that use very little power.
I've found some promising information on the newish ultra-small form factor motherboards (mini-pico ITX boards), and I don't think other components, hdds, etc., will be a problem, but am running into a wall with the display. Ideally I would like to find something that is as thin, energy efficient, and brilliant as the newest generation of notebook lcds, but is intended for use with traditional motherboard display outputs. I have not found anything useful yet, and what little information I can find about converting a notebook display is discouraging.
So, if anyone has any ideas, I would be very appreciative. For that matter, any comments/suggestions about this whole project are welcome, as well.
Thanks, JDS
