What to do when flash drive doesnt work

Hello,
Inserted my flash drive into usb port. It said new hardware not installed, then it installed it but I cannot find it on my computer

Reboot. It should automatically assign a drive letter.
See if it shows up in device manager.
Go to disk management and assign a letter to it if necessary.
