XP windows home edition

Hello,
I am using XP home edition and when I try to open an Driver Edition v2.7.4 software I get ''Access violation at address 004F486A in module Driver Checker.exe" Read of address 00000000'' after that it opens but nothing works.
Advice appriciated, thank you.

I think you are missing something from the program name, is the name actually "Driver Edition"? Or are you trying to install some driver for hardware?

Also, is the a freebie download program? It doesn't seem to have been written correctly. An access violation with a "Read of address 00000000" almost always points to a null pointer trying to be accessed, which isn't allowed.
