HI
Basically, i have built my own system.. containing the following:

q6600 cpu
2 gig corsair dominator ram
xfx 8800gtx
ASUS P5K PRO iP35
and a 22 inch samsung moniter
Coolermaster 700w realpower modular psu

So, i have followed the motherboard manual carefully, plugged everything into the motherboard.. all components, all wires from my modular PSU but when i turn system on, nothing happens to my moniter, just sits there in standby mode without a signal - ie im not seeing a boot screen.
All fans are spinning, gcard fan spinning, cpu cooler, etc... the motherboard light is yellow... blue cathodes are blue (big surpise) and my cd drive is working fine - opens when i press open.
I dont know what to do, i have tried swapping rams into different slots, even only using 1 instead of the 2; i checked all the wiring to make sure its all in its right position, but just no signal going to the moniter.
The moniter does work as i used it on a different system the other day so im guessing its a graphics card problem.
Thanks for reading and i hope you can help

unplug power cord, clear cmos for 10 mins, try each ram stick in each slot, go to bios, load default & increase ddr2 voltage to no higher than 2.1v upon POST, install the other stick.

ok so clearing cmos for 10 mins means puting th jumper cap on for 10 mins... or clear it for the "reccommended 5-10 secs" and waiting 10 mins.. im not too sure what you meant by that
And should this actually give a signal to moniter so i can get to bios
thanks
Sorry for the double thread guys but my forum bugged and said it didnt make a post

well i tried setting cmos for 10 mins anyway, and still not getting a signal to moniter

5-10 secs is B.S. Doesn't work for every board. Some boards take 1 hour to 1 day.

try each ram stick in each slot, go to bios, load default & increase ddr2 voltage to no higher than 2.1v upon POST, install the other stick.

The issue might be as simple as incompatible RAM.
I spent weeks trying diagnose the same problem on my first build, even RMAed a mobo and a card, but they weren't the problem. Bought a diff. brand Ram and it booted up fine and dandy.
Just try putting in RAM that is known to be compatible to your mobo.

Have you tried connecting your monitor to the port on the motherboard instead of the video card. Then boot and see if it works, if it does then as soon as you get to the OS install or reinstall the drivers for the graphics card then turn off switch monitor to graphics card and boot see if that helps.
