Hi, I got a free D875PBZ based PC from my friend. It has only 512MB RAM though. I plan to upgrade it to 2GB (2X1GB DIMMs).

Does this mobo accept high density RAM (128Mx4 chips)(16 chips per module)
OR
Does this mobo MUST have low density RAM (64Mx8 chips)(16 chips per module)?

The corsair compatibility tool gave some products, but I couldn't find info if those modules were high density or low density ones.

Thanks

My expereince,
I have been using this (D875PBZ) board as a home workstation for several years with a P-4 @ 3.0 GB w/800 Mhz FSB & 1Mb level 2 cache plus a nVidia GeForce 7800 GT Video card.

In the beginning I tried 4gb of high density 400mhz/1GB PNY memory modules and could not get more than 1-stick single channel to boot. (lastest bios offered by the way)
I did an RMA on the memory 400mhz/1GB X 4 = 4GB sent them back and replaced the 4gb with ultra low latency (2-2-2-5) 400 Mhz/512mb x 4 = 2gb total and it has worked perfectly for the last 4 years and still does.
Good luck.

Do you recall the brand of ram you got... I am interested in upgrading my computer ram and just had some trouble w/ the 1 gb ram I purchased. Could you also explain the "3-3-3-8" Any help would be great.

Thanks!
