Help From 98 Gods

So, as I boot into 98se my log on screen comes up to log onto the network. If I wait 12 seconds and then hit enter it boots up fine, but if I hit enter before then, I either get a blue screen or no screen at all and have to re-boot. WHY?!? Thanks all.

Are you logging in into the network from that machine?
If not, then disable network login.

As far as I could understand from yer original post: if you are logging into the network then give the PC the time it needs to find "buddies" around to connect with. In your case if you interrupt this it does not know what to do next, kinda "whoooops, what is now, I am lost, help, sucker, who knocked me down" and that kind of stuff )
If you reinstall W98 it could cure it. But otherwise do what is "best" for now...
