I am considering getting CellSocket to make my cell phone usabile at
home. Currently, very, very, very, bad. I do have a few spots in the
ouse that work.
I only have Motorola V180. It's not listed on the website as compatible.
I do see a couple of the phones look similar on the website. I wonder if
it would work. Thanks.

I got one, it works ok if you have good signal to start with. dont
expect it to help if your in a fringe area and cant make calls directly
on your cell handset to start with.
I also have a problem where it keeps ringing my connected phone even
after the cell phone stops 'ringing'
their customer (lack-of)service is pathetic to non-existant.

I think it would work singal-wise. I can stand in one spot and talk. I
don't see they support V180 though. Is your phone model supported? The
glitches you mentioned isn't too serious. Are there more problems?

Cellsocket even though it has its own antenna won't cure bad reception
problems.
Also, if they don't specify your model I wouldn't risk over a hundred
dollars to get one not knowing whether it's compatible with what you
have. Lots of phones "look" similar.
You might also check out a product called "Dock-n-talk" which works in
a similar way. They may have a model that is compatible with what
you've got.

I have an older model for my Nokia 6360. It works well enough.

Don't wonder; call them. Phones may look similar but work differently.

I wrote them on the email asking about Motorola V180 and I got the
answer back saying they no longer make it for NOKIA phones?!?!?!?!

I heard dock-to-talk is pretty good - no experience with it though.

I think maybe Nokia was being too tight-lipped about the interfaces
to their newer phones. Here's another CellSocket-related link:

Thank you very much. The Dock N Talk looks very promising. And they are
in my area so if it doesn't work, I can give them !@#$%^&*. ;-)

If you have broadband, why not get VoIP for your home and have it ring your
cell phone simultaneously? Many services are only $20/m with unlimited free
LD. Ideally, you'd want to have your cell number ported over to your VoIP
service, if possible.
