It sounds like you need to do some reading on how your CPU works. If you google i7 or even read some of the review/articles here on Toms youll get a better understanding of how the new architecture works and will be able to make more sense of BIOS options...

You should never be overclocking without knowing how/what some of these settings/options will do for you.

I agree with chookman. While the site I linked will help you overclock, it might not give all the information you need to understand what you are really doing, especially with voltages (both to CPU and memory) and timing settings.

If you do go head on, just do small increments, and test. Don't just do a huge adjustment.

Oh, find out how to reset your CMOS as well. It could prove very useful.
