I have windows xp SP3 installed on my machine and i always have automatic updates turned on. When i had SP2 on my machine, automatic updates had installed all the updates prior to SP3 on my machine. Then one day automatic updates prompted me to install SP3 and i did it.
I had learnt from some forum that we either need SP2 + all the updates or we need SP3. Now my query is, does my machine have SP2+all the updates and SP3 or has SP3 replaced itself with the older updates.
Through uninstaller tools i can see all windows updates. Should i uninstall all updates prior to SP3 since i have SP3 installed?
This falls under the heading of "don't mess with stuff that is not broken".
If you have some odd need to try break your system so you can re-install Windows, you may proceed with uninstalling stuff. It's like me taking out parts from my car that don't look like they are needed. I mean, why are there so many cables under there, it can't need more than 3 or 4.
