So im trying to load up crysis before i upgrade my hardware to see how bad it does. And as i get to the main menu before the menus pop up. It goes blue screen says physical memory dump then restarts. Ive never had that before when playing a game besides crysis.
e4300 overclocked to 2.8ghz
g.skill ddr800 only running at 667
gigabyte 965p ds3
8800gts.

Any ideas what i should try.

Update your drivers?

I mean your hardware should at least be able to run Crysis, BSOD means there's something wrong with your system (or maybe Crysis is just buggy).

can you get a hold of a bootable floppy with scandisk on it,i do not trust windoze's chkdsk ,usually fills the partition up with "found" directories,to my way of thinking,,,from the old DRDOS 7 days,,,,chkdsk should FIX things not FUX it all up,also i have found that after i install a rather large program it helps a little to defrag the partition in question, there is a free and very fast very defragger available from:::: http://www.majorgeeks.com/Auslogic [...] d5266.html

try it you'll love it,wickedly fast, although it does not do consolidation, for that you need,,, Ultimate Defrag, also very fast,,all things considered..
and,,, as Johnyeah says there is something not kosher with your system otherwise you would not be getting a memory dump,, probably a screw up in the registry, just guessing here, and if it is a screw up in the registry you might have to do a clean reinstall or,dare i say it ,,a restore uuuuh, which will not necessarily fix a screwed up registry,, WTH,you can always try a restore before doing a clean reinstall as you are going that way as it were...:)

thanks for the help but the **** drivers i downloaded today were bad so i switched back to old drivers. i noticed my windows vista score dropped my graphics card down to 1.0

are you sure you got a stable overclock??

When you get score 1.0 it means that you have the wrong drivers, or something else is badly configured.
