will this card (a pcie 2.0) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6814102754
work in my pcie 1.0 port. Its not a 1.1 port, but a normal 1.0 x16. i have heard all sorts of different responses. I know that 2.0 cards are compatible with 1.1 slots at half speed, but what about a 1.0 pcie slot? some places say that a 2.0 card will not work in a normal 1.0 x16 slot.

Yes it will but it won't be quite as fast. My friend has a 9800GTX+(PCIE 2.0) in his 680i(PCIE 1.0) and it works fine.
