Well, its a gaming pc on a low budget, $800 MAX! it will mainly be used for WoW and Warhammer, hopefully the best setting possible lol i have to take into account tax and whatnot. This is what i have so far:
ok, the mobo was last because i have a thread going on the mobo/cpu forum.
If u want to check how that is doign or want to input something, heres a link: http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/ [...] -mobo-help
Currently it comes out to $830 more or less w/tax, which is do-able. But if i can cut any corners lemme know pls.
( keyboard, mouse and speakers not included because i already have them)
Well, thanks so much for any help, input, info and anything lol
p.s. - if u noticed everything is from tigerdirect.com and not newegg, i live in miami and there are a couple branches of the TD stores so im going there to buy them in person, pls keep that in mind.
Is there a reason you're using Tigerdirect ? Prices would be a bit better with newegg. I don't like the coolmax power supply. Everything seems compatible.
Look at the Antec NSK4480 case which includes an Earthwatts 380w psu for $39.95 after rebate.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6811129031 Check the shipping costs for cases. They are heavy, and shipping can cost a bunch. It pays to shop around for free shipping.
If you are a student, you may qualify for academic pricing on vista.

I'm using tigerdirect because I live near 2 of the stores and I plan to go in person and buy everything. Can you recommend a mobo from tigerdirect thats not micro for under $90?
If you buy from Newegg, you'll wait longer, but pay no state sales tax (unless they have facilities in your state, like they do in mine (TN)). If you find things with free shipping, Newegg will be cheaper.
As geofelt pointed out, Coolmax PSUs are crap. Tigerdirect's other brand, Ultra, is hit or miss. Most of those are crap too, but some are not. We realize it is dated, but check that link geofelt included.
Feel free to spend an afternoon reading PSU reviews on jonnyguru.com and hardocp.com. I think hardwaresecrets.com (?) also does proper PSU testing, including load tests and ripple measurement. When those sites tell you that a PSU is crap, they'll tell you (and show you) why. I've never read a bad review of Corsair, PC Power & Cooling, Antec, or OCZ.
Micro ATX boards tend to have thermal problems, which limit any overclocking even if the onboard video is disabled.
I would not buy a mobo from MSI. One of my coworkers used to own a computer store, and says they had lots of problems with MSI. I've heard that sentiment echoed by a couple of others around here. I think Gigabyte, Asus, or Biostar would be safer choices. I've used the first and last over the past couple of years, and only had to RMA one Gigabyte micro ATX board. I've also used Abit, but would no longer recommend them because they are getting out of the mobo business.

As a rule, any psu that has at least one 6 pin pci-e connector, regardless of the wattage, will do the job.
That said, the psu is not the place to go cheap.
The unit you picked has low efficiency, and not very many amps(18) on the 12v rail, where it counts. The unit should work, but I would look for something better. Look at the corsair 450VX
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6817139003 Even though it has the same wattage, it delivers 33a on the 12v rails vs. 18, and is 80+ efficient vs. 65.
An even better unit for the price is the antec earthwatts 430W for $35.

Have some patience, and check out the prices on newegg or other good online vendors. The shipping costs will be less than the 7% sales tax you will pay locally. Picking up a case locally can be a good idea because of the weight.

That 4850 in that link should take the 8800gt to school, also, it's 170, but after rebates it's 140, so 20 bucks more should get you a way better card. Also no sales tax for you, and free shipping. Hard to beat.
