Hey everyone,

system:
cpu: Q9550 @ 3.4ghz
mb: Abit QuadGTx38
Vc: currently have 8800gts 92 upgrade to: 4870 1gb or 48701gb CF or 4870 x2
ram: 8gb G.skill @ 1.8v
sc: Creative XFi Gamer
hd: 32gb SSD & 640 WD Black
dd: DVD/CD RW

thanks anyone for responding, Im looking at the two power supply and the 620HX is actually on sale @ f right now and it will come out to be cheaper than the 750TX.

I've read other forums concerning these two but most answers are personal testimony for either products. I know that the HX made by Seasonic and the TX is made by CWT.

Now my biggest concern is that the 620HX may not be able to handle 4870x2 and the Q9550 overclock. Another major difference between the HX and the TX is the rail, 3 vs 1 respectively. Lots of enthusiast recommended single rail power supply and at 60A the TX look so sexy.

So which one? price doesn't really matter since they are both about the same but its hard to pass up cheap quality stuff.
Any input would be welcome especially those with links to review. Personally testimony on the other hand does not add any substance to the discussion, sorry if i sound a bit rude there.

A useful thread:
http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-replies-archive.cfm/1054802.html

My comment would be that the 620HX only has 2xPCIe 8-pin power connectors so would need some mod'ing or molex->PCIe power connector converters to power 2x 4870 cards in CF.

The multi-rail thing is a misnomer since most Corsair PSU's really only have 1x 12V rail.

The 620HX should power your system just fine. Check out this power calculator:

Its inaccurate but gives ballpark figures.

Yea the whole multi rail thing is a misnomer as bobwya stated because very few psu's actually have "multiple" rails. Most are just one rail that they artificially split.
The only ones i remember have separate rails are the CWT Thermaltakes 1000/1200 and HX1000

Between the HX and TX, they perform equally the same
Take a look at these jonnyguru reviews....
