Hello,

I'm going to buy a new graphics card.
i'm thinking about Gainward 9800GT Bliss 512MB.
whats your opinion about this card?

Also i want to know what PSU this card needs.
I have a 400WATT (12v - 20A)

My system specs are:
Intel P4 630 (3Ghz)
Motherboard gigabyte GA-8N SLI
1x 512MB & 1x 1GB ram
1x 200GB HDD
1X Asus 6600 128mb
also i have tvtuner and wireless card installed

Is a 400W PSU enough for this pc with the new graphics card?

You don't have enough amperage on 12v , though 400W is enough for the system. That psu shall barely work though, with random errors and risks involved. I'd suggest a psu with at least 25A-12v.

If the 9800GT is just a re badged 8800GT, then officially you need a PSU with 22A on the 12V rail. You are cutting it close with what you have. I would say risk it if you had a C2D, but seeing as you have a power hungry P4, you should consider upgrading the PSU as well.

what about the 9600GT is it ok for my PSU?

On my 9600gt box it say you need 26A 400w PSU. Don't know how that works, but i'd suggest rather buying a new PSU.

I'd really recommend getting a new system. A 9600 & 9800 will be limit by your current setup. A nice E5200 and 2Gb RAM setup would be ideal and cheap
