Hello, since I had no idea myself I thought that it would be nice to list my results for anyone who wants to know how an Xigmatek HDT-s1283 works on an i5 750, or any Core i7 CPU as well since they are pretty similar.
Stock cooling was horrible, I would idle at about 35c across all cores and at load with all cores I would easy go beyond 80c if I let it.
Well I just installed my Xigy, with the after market bracket, and with my i5 750 at stock I'm getting:
Idles
Core 1: 26c
Core 2: 21c
Core 3: 25c
Core 4: 21c
And after a maximum intel burn test I got this for load (2.8 GHz after Turbo mode kicked in @ 1.216v) :
Cores 1: 53C
Cores 2: 48c
Cores 3: 48c
Cores 4: 48c
Those are some nice temps, especially considering my dual 8800 GTS 512s which do dump some heat in the case. Here is my case cooling:
2 Antec tricool fans on high (2x 79 CFM) -Front intake
2 Antec tricool fans on high (2x 79cfm) - Top exhaust
2 silverstone 92nm fans (2 about 30-40 CFM) - rear exhaust
So my case is pretty close to an Antec 900 in performance.
Also note that my Xigy is using a Scythe Sliptstream 1900 RPM, 110 CFM, fan which I highly recommend since it isn't all that loud and performs great at low RPM.
I haven't begun overclocking, though I'm about to, so if anyone is interested I'll post up my final temps when I'm done.
