My computer suffers from random restarts and the rare blue screen. I use it for gaming and while sometimes I can run stable for 8 hours or more, othertimes it won't run stable for more than an hour.
This is my sixth computer I've built over the past 10+ years but I'm no expert. What sort of diagnostic checklist should I be following to eliminate possible causes?
I've run the memory test on the Vista install disc and no errors are reported.
I have checked the temps with Speedfan and they are as follows:
Core0: 43c (idle) 57c (gaming)
Core1: 37c (idle) 52c (gaming)
Core2: 45c (idle) 59c (gaming)
Core3: 45c (idle) 59c (gaming)

5 hours of Memtest completed 10 passes and there were no errors. Reset the bios to default settings but I did not change the ddr2 voltage prior to this test.
Event Viewer does not show any memory errors either.
Other errors are listed however relating to the unexpected shutdowns i'm experiencing.
Still other errors are listed, some of which MicroSoft indicates can be ignored.
The remaining errors include a WQL query error which MicroSoft suggests I should download an old tool to investigate with.
